Where did Manga come from?
Manga (漫画, IPA: [maŋga]) are comics or graphic novels originating from Japan. Most manga conform to a style developed in Japan in the late 19th century, and the form has a long history in earlier Japanese art. The term manga is used in Japan to refer to both comics and cartooning.
We focus mainly on dark Manga to highlight brilliant artists working in this realm.
Mangaka (漫画家?) is the Japanese word for a comic artist or cartoonist. Outside of Japan, manga usually means a Japanese comic book. Mangaka means the author of the manga, who is usually Japanese. Some artists may study at an art college, manga school, or take on an apprenticeship with another mangaka.
